VIDEO/PHOTOS: Dozens of passengers were evacuated after the monorail ride lost power at the Disneyland Resort Thursday. Anaheim Fire Department crews responded to the theme park just before 5 p.m.
A Disneyland Resort spokesperson said that the monorail’s beam lost power in the late afternoon, which affected two trains and left riders stranded for hours. Sky5 footage showed dozens of passengers, reportedly around 60 people, being evacuated from the trains by climbing down ladders. The trains stalled near the entrance to Disneyland Park.
By 7 p.m., all riders were evacuated. One visitor who was stuck on the ride told KTLA that the vehicle lost power around 3:30 p.m. Authorities said there were no injuries to any guests. Park officials did not provide details on the cause of the power outage.
