VIDEO: The owner of a Danville salon is trying to pick up the pieces after a fire destroyed her business and several others. It broke out just before 10 p.m. last Monday at a building on East Prospect Avenue. โFire came over our roof. So weโre all water and smoke damage. Our whole roof has all caved in. All of our stuff is smashed. Weโre just destroyed on the inside,โ said Dana Johnson, the owner of Heart & Hustle Salon.
Heart & Hustle Salon, a neighboring boutique, a gift shop, and an eyelash studio were all destroyed in the fire. Johnson says she and her stylists lost their place of work and all of the tools that make their careers possible. โYou know, us as hairstylists, we use all of our stuff every single day able to recover anything,โ said Johnson. โSo the amount of money that weโre losing by having to re-buy everything and all that insurance, I know takes a very long time. So, you know, weโre devastated on so many different levels.โ
