VIDEOS: Two fires in roughly the same area of Riverside County burned more than 300 acres of brush Wednesday near the community of Aguanga. The fires were reported at about midday near Highway 371, about 20 miles east of Temecula. The Dale Fire, estimated at about 700 acres, was near Riverdale Drive. A second smaller fire was about a mile to the south at Bradford Road and Gelding Way. Several fire engines and hand crews responded to the location, where flames from the larger brush fire near Riverdale Drive were rapidly spreading.
Two structures, possibly vacant outbuildings, were burned. Four Cal Fire air tankers and two water-dropping helicopters initiated runs on the larger fire at 1:10 p.m. However, the flames spread in the direction of Cahuilla Creek Motocross and the Cahuilla Casino Hotel, both south of Highway 371. Evacuation orders were in place southeast of the Lake Riverside Estates. The motocross track and casino were under evacuation warnings.
