VIDEO: A man is dead after his Tesla rolled multiple times during a massive, multi-vehicle crash in Huntington Beach on Tuesday. According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the crash happened around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Goldenwest Street and Heil Avenue. Huntington Beach police said when officers arrived at the scene, they identified seven vehicles involved in the crash, including one that ended up flipped upside down.
Firefighters treated the injured patients at the scene and transported three people to local hospitals in stable condition. Police said the driver of the overturned vehicle, a 37-year-old man from Huntington Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video obtained by Eyewitness News shows the moment two of the cars collided in the intersection. An innocent driver involved in the crash suffered cuts from broken glass and was left bloodied, video showed. His young child was in the backseat but did not appear injured. Investigators believe a gray Tesla Model 3 driving eastbound on Heil Avenue at a high rate of speed lost control as it crossed the intersection, colliding with several vehicles. Debris from the crash also struck other nearby cars.
