A woman was rescued from a house fire that destroyed a Rector home. Rector Police Chief Kelly Baker said a call came in around 5:36 p.m. on Sunday Dec. 14 on the 500 block of East 3rd Street. The home was fully engulfed when emergency responders arrived.
One woman was rescued and no injuries were reported, Baker said. He said the other occupants of the home were not there when the fire began. The building was formerly a church but is now a private residence.
Rector, Greenway and Marmaduke fire departments responded to the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Baker said.
