Tucson Fire investigating house explosion

VIDEOS/PHOTOS: Several agencies responded to a house explosion in Tucson on Tuesday, July 15. The Tucson Fire Department confirmed it happened around 1 p.m. at a home in the 9000 Block of East Paseo San Bernardo, which is near Rita and Houghton roads. The TFD said multiple callers reported an explosion and flames. Fire crews arrived a few minutes later and found the home was 75% engulfed in flames. Crews went defensive, which means they only fought the fire from the outside. Other crews worked to protect nearby homes. The TFD said one nearby home was damaged, but no one was hurt, and six people were displaced. The cause remains under investigation. Southwest Gas said it had to dig a hole in the ground to find the gas lines to shut them off. The company also said they did not find any underground gas leaks.
