VIDEO: The Town of Oracle has received some helpful visitors for the next few days helping clean up months after the devastating Cody Fire. The sound of chainsaws Thursday morning was the noise Mark Ramirez has been waiting for. โWe couldnโt have asked for anything better and theyโre not charging us a cent,โ Ramirez said. Dozens of volunteers from across the country on Team Rubicon have begun scattering around Oracle, helping victims of the Cody Fire back in May that devastated 6 homes. The fire consumed over 1,200 acres and impacted water access to residents of Oracle.
โOne of the buildings here on our property was totally destroyed,โ Ramirez said. Eventually, theyโll get to demolish the remains of burned buildings but theyโre starting with the charred landscape. โWeโll take them down to dirt, clean them, and allow the homeowner to get started on a rebuild process,โ Team Rubicon Field Readiness Leader David Rabb said. Team Rubicon travels across the country to help in the aftermath of natural disasters, so when Pinal County asked for the help, they got their hard hats on and sleds in hand. โThe fact that we can come in and make it a little easier for them, itโs great,โ Rabb said. โIt makes you feel good.โ
