Toddler among 2 hospitalized after north Phoenix apartment fire; 13 displaced

Over a dozen people are displaced, and two people are in the hospital after a fire broke out at a north Phoenix apartment early Wednesday morning. According to Phoenix Fire, around 8:30 a.m., crews received reports of a fire at the Enclave at Paradise Valley apartments, located near Paradise Village Parkway and Tatum Boulevard. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the first and second floor, with the flames extending to the third floor. Crews quickly upgraded the response to a first alarm โ€œdue to the fireโ€™s size and complexity,โ€ investigators said. Two people, including a 2-year-old, were able to escape the flames. The two were checked out by firefighters, and both were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
