Pima County: VFW Post building in Three Points gutted by fire

VIDEO: The VFW Post 10254 building is an integral part of the Three Points community. Over the weekend, a large portion of the building burned in a fire, scorching the interior part of the venue. It serves as an important venue within the community with multiple local organizations, agencies, and groups using it for their events every week. The white walls inside the building are now covered in black char. That portion of the building remains unusable until the reconstruction. 13 News spoke to Morgan McHose after the fire was found.

โ€œFrom the inside, itโ€™s devastating. Everything in the interior has been damaged,โ€ said McHose, the postโ€™s quartermaster. From holiday parties, vaccine clinics, to food giveaways, McHose told 13 News that this building is an important part of the community. โ€œWe are a very actively engaged community, thatโ€™s a downside to it all, having this out of commission for now,โ€ McHose said. The Three Points Fire District responded to the fire early Sunday, Sept. 7. The evening before, the venue was full of life and celebration, with McHose and other family friends celebrated a send-off for his son, Grant, who was enlisted to serve in the army.
