Hiker hospitalized after being rescued from Gold Canyon trail in Pinal County

VIDEO: A woman is in critical condition after being rescued off a hiking trail in Gold Canyon on Saturday. Around 2 p.m., crews from Superstition Fire & Medical District and Pinal County Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to Peralta Trail after someone called in to report their hiking partner had become unconscious. When first responders arrived, they found a woman in her 50s more than halfway up the trail suffering from heat-related issues. Arizonaโ€™s Family First Alert Weather Team says temperatures were around 109 at the time crews were dispatched. Fire crews provided the woman with immediate medical attention before assisting her down from the trail. Once she was safely at the bottom, they rushed her to the hospital. Her identity has not been released. No firefighter injuries were reported.
