VIDEO: A male hiker was brought to Tucson for treatment after being rescued from the Dragoon Mountains in Cochise County. According to Cochise County Search and Rescue, crews responded to an area near Rockfellow Dome Thursday, November 20, after a report of a male subject who slipped and fell approximately 70 feet.
Search and Rescue determined a technical vertical surface hoist was needed to complete the rescue of the injured person and the reporting person.
The male subject was secured on a backboard by an USBP BORSTAR Paramedic Agent who had been assigned to Ranger 2 as a rescue specialist. The male subject was hoisted into Ranger 2 and flown to the landing zone where medical crews started treatment before he was flown to Banner UMC Medical Center in Tucson for treatment of his critical injuries.
