Electrical fire sparks evacuation for Buckeye neighborhood, roads blocked

A reported electrical fire forced a dozen homes to evacuate on Wednesday night in a remote Buckeye neighborhood. It happened in the Tartesso Community near Thomas Road and about a mile west of Sun Valley Parkway. The Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Department confirmed 12 houses were evacuated, but itโ€™s unclear how many people were impacted.

Investigators said a small fire started in an underground electric vault, which provides power at a water pump station for the neighborhood. The fire was extinguished around 10 p.m. Thereโ€™s no information on what started the fire. Buckeye Water assisted the community in repairing the well site so people did not lose water.
