VIDEO: A fight in the front seat of a vehicle led to a fatal crash on Interstate 19 in Pima County on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Arizona DPS confirmed there was a physical altercation before a vehicle drove into the media and rolled over. DPS said both people in the front seat were ejected. The passenger was killed, and the driver suffered serious injuries. The name of the victim could be released as early as Thursday.
The Santa Rita Fire District and DPS said there were two kids in the back seat who were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The SRFD said the crash happened about 8:30 a.m. near Papago Road (KP88). Crews from the Tohono O’Odham Fire Department and Santa Rita Fire District were assisted on scene by the DPS, Sahuarita Police Department, Tohono O’Odham Police Department, and the Arizona Department of Transportation.
