‘What comes next?’: Glennallen recovering after Caribou Hotel fire

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The day after a fire burned down the Caribou Hotel, local entities are coming together to help those in need. American Legion Commander Terry Keizer said on Thursday that Legion Post 27 is working on following up on their assistance with those affected in Wednesday morning’s blaze that left no one injured, but a popular hotel burned down. There was no word yet on the cause or origin of the fire.

“We had opened up the Legion for people to go to that needed a place that was warm, out of the cold, and provide some amenities, and [Thursday], I’m here to do the same thing,” Keizer said. “Normally, I would not be in on a Thursday, but I’m here today as a follow-up.

“The general mood is ‘What’s gonna happen next?’ None of the people affected have been in the Legion today, but they were having a meeting [with] their employer and boss over at the Caribou restaurant … on basically what comes next for the people who were affected and working, because many of the people worked at both the hotel and restaurant, and they lived at the hotel.”
