VIDEO: A Wasilla cardiologist who was facing 10 counts of possession of child sex abuse material is dead after being found in the remnants of a house fire Saturday in Wasilla. Alaskaโs News Source confirmed on Tuesday that 46-year-old Ryan McDonough, who faced those allegations, was the only person inside his Wasilla home that burned down on Dec. 13.
The blaze occurred a day after McDonough was released on bail after being arrested on Dec. 11. Tess Williams, a spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety, told Alaskaโs News Source on Tuesday that the state medical examiner will rule on the cause of death. Williams added that the investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is ongoing.
โIn general, troopers consider a number of factors during any investigation, including thorough reviews of the physical scene, reviews of any evidence and interviews with any pertinent people,โ Williams told Alaskaโs News Source. Alaskaโs News Source spoke to several neighbors near McDonoughโs residence on Tuesday, who declined to be interviewed on-camera.
