Three workers injured in fire at North Slope ConocoPhillips facility

VIDEO: Two people are still in an Anchorage hospital following a fire at a ConocoPhillips facility in Alpine Friday, according to the company. ConocoPhillips said three people were injured when a โ€œlocalized flash fireโ€ broke out at the Alpine Central Facility around 2:30 p.m. Work ceased immediately in the area, and the injured people received care at the Alpine Medical Clinic before being flown to an Anchorage hospital, the company said. As of Sunday morning, one person has been released from the hospital, while the other two are still being treated but are in stable condition, ConocoPhillips said. โ€œOur primary concern is for the safety and well-being of personnel who have been affected by this incident. The company is providing, and will continue to provide, support and assistance to affected personnel,โ€ according to ConocoPhillips. An investigation to see what caused the fire is ongoing, the company said.
