VIDEO: Seward Highway was closed in both directions in the vicinity of Scooter Avenue due to a large vehicle collision Thursday, according to the Anchorage Police and Fire Departments.
APD responded to a vehicle fire on the southbound Seward Highway at Scooter Avenue at 8:32 a.m. Thursday. Immediately following the police response, the highway was closed at Scooter Avenue going south and closed at OโMalley Road going north.
According to APD, as of 12 p.m. Thursday, all north and southbound lanes were open again. Two people were taken to the hospital as a result of the crash, according to a Facebook post from AFD.
