One person was found dead inside a mobile home after it caught on fire Wednesday morning, according to the Anchorage Fire Department. Around 5:02 a.m., AFD responded to a reported structure fire at Dimond Estates Trailer Court. Upon arrival, firefighters found approximately half of the mobile home consumed in flames and smoke.
One person was found dead inside the trailer. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation by the AFD Fire Marshal’s Office. AFD states that it is unknown whether smoke alarms were working in the residence. AFD states that this marks the third fatality at a fire incident this year.
