North Pole Fire Department responds to fire after ‘frantic’ resident alerts them

The North Pole Fire Department responded to a fire at 358 Finell Drive after being alerted by a resident “frantically” ringing their doorbell, according to the NPFD’s Facebook page. The on-duty crew were notified of the fire by the resident at 2:11 a.m. Thursday, according to the post. Four minutes after arriving, the incident was upgraded to a working structure fire. Mutual aid from the North Star Volunteer Fire Department and Fort Wainwright Fire Department helped put out the fire. The fire was under control in 40 minutes with extensive mop-up necessary to ensure it was out. There were no deaths or injuries from either occupants or responders.
