VIDEO: It was a normal Wednesday morning at Fire Station 11 in Eagle River when a firefighter made a puzzling discovery- a box sitting outside by a door with a note. The author said two kittens couldnโt be cared for and they wanted to leave them somewhere safe.
Firefighter John Saari said there were no kittens in the box or seemingly close by. It wasnโt until a few hours later when he was leaving the station for the day when he spotted them.
โI saw what I thought initially was just a clump of dirty snow but it started moving a little bit,โ Saari said. โI realized it was a kitten laying in a puddle of water, shivering.โ
The second kitten was hiding behind a bucket by the door, Saari said it was also wet and shivering. Saari, an animal lover who has several pets himself, was a bit dismayed that the kittens had been left outside, possibly overnight.
