PHOTOS: A young child is dead after a fire broke out in a home Sunday morning. Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd identified the victim as 4-year-old Nova Wynn. The fire broke out in a mobile home in the 7100 block of East Highway 84, shortly before 10:00 a.m.
When crews arrived on the scene, the found the trailer fully engulfed. According to the HCSO, 4-year-old Wynn was unable to escape and was found dead inside the home.
Authorities say there were five children inside the home at the time of the fire, including the victim. The other four children escaped without injury.
The fire is under investigation by the Houston County Sheriffโs Office and the State Fire Marshalโs Office. Pilchers Ambulance, the Ashford Police Department and various Houston County fire departments responded to the scene.
