Two dead, firefighter injured in Limestone County house fire

A father and his son are dead and a firefighter was injured after an early morning house fire in Limestone County. East Limestone Volunteer Fire Spokesperson Hunter Newby told News 19 that the deadly house fire took place along Highway 251 near Shelton Road on Thursday morning just after midnight.

Newby confirmed that the child was 7-years-old. According to Newby, one firefighter was injured and treated at the scene. The family also told News 19 that in all 2 adults, and 3 children were inside the house during the fire. The children are 6 months, 9, and 7. According to the family, the wife of the male adult victim received burns on her arms and was thrown out of a window by her husband during the fire. The family was awoken by a crackling sound and was unaware of what caused the fire. The 6-month-old child also received burns to their hands as well. The 9-year-old is expected to be okay.
