No one injured in house fire in Limestone County

Authorities say no one was injured after a house fire in East Limestone County. East Limestone Fire Department, along with five other fire departments, responded to the fire Thursday afternoon in the area of Capshaw Road and McCulley Mill Road. East Limestone Fire Chief Tony Kirk said the fire started in the attic of the split-level home. He said three people, a mother and two teenagers, were in the home at the time of the fire, but none of the three were injured. โ€œOne of the family members said she thought she had a little too much smoke, but didnโ€™t nobody go to the hospital,โ€ Kirk said. โ€œEMS has been here and checked them all out, and everybodyโ€™s fine.โ€ He said the family would likely be displaced for some time due to the damage to the house. The chief said the heat and the humidity made it difficult for firefighters to work during the fire, which crews were able to keep to the attic. โ€œFirefighters werenโ€™t able to work but a few minutes at a time,โ€ he said.ย
