VIDEO: The City of Mobile has a new fire chief, appointed on Tuesday at the Mobile City Council meeting. Chief Barry Glisson has served with the Mobile Fire and Rescue Department for more than 20 years. He said he is grateful to continue serving the Port City as the new chief.
Since July, Chief Glisson has served as the interim fire chief after his predecessor, Johnny Morris Jr., retired. Tuesday, โinterimโ was removed from his title. Excited and ready to get to work, Chief Glisson shared what he plans on doing now that heโs in office.
โWeโre going to continue to support the men and women of the fire department,โ Chief Glisson said. โAnd I want to make sure that what we provide to the citizens does not change and that we always have the best response and weโre there to answer their calls for service.”
