Firefighters responded to a house fire in Montgomery Monday night. According to Montgomery Fire/Rescue, crews were called to the 2400 block of Spruce Curve around 11:20 p.m. Officials say firefighters initially entered the home to put out the fire, but were forced to evacuate after conditions worsened. They made a defensive attack to knock down majority of the fire, and eventually went back into the house to extinguish the rest. Officials say no one was found inside the home. No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported. An MFR chaplain was contacted to assist the displaced residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
