VIDEO: Monrovia Volunteer Fire Rescue is thanking COUNTRY Financial and the Rocket City Trash Pandas for their support after receiving a donation of two new sets of turnout gear for its firefighters.
The presentation of $10,000 took place during First Responders Day at Toyota Field, where the Rocket City Trash Pandas played the Chattanooga Lookouts Sunday. The department, which serves tens of thousands of residents and more than 100 businesses, said the equipment will help ensure new members are outfitted with the tools they need to stay safe on the job.
“We talk all the time about how we need more people to join, and our community continually answers the call,” the department said in a statement. “But it’s our job to get our members the equipment they need and deserve.” Fire suppression and prevention are the department’s primary mission. That includes planning for new construction, inspecting fire safety systems in businesses, and educating the public about fire risks.
