A lightning strike ignited a house fire on County Road 322, prompting a swift response from multiple fire departments. Isabella Volunteer Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 9 a.m. Saturday to the scene, with Maplesville Volunteer Fire & Rescue also responding as automatic aid. Isabella Fire initially deployed one apparatus and two personnel. As Engine 152 approached, heavy smoke was visible from a mile away, leading to a request for additional support from nearby departments. South Chilton Fire and Rescue, West Chilton Volunteer Fire Department, and Cedar Grove Fire Department in Chilton County all responded with multiple apparatus and personnel. The fire was brought under control within approximately one hour, and all units returned to service by noon.
