Lightning strike causes fire at Albertville home as leaders prepare for next round of storms

One Albertville family has been temporarily displaced after lightning struck their home Monday morning, causing a major fire. They, along with county leaders, are preparing once again for a round of severe weather headed into the area on Tuesday. A home on Honeysuckle Lane was struck by lightning at around 5 a.m., according to homeowners. That lightning strike caused a fire that damaged much of the interior of the home. Inside the home was a couple, their baby, and their dogs, but no one was injured. Now, the family is gathering whatโ€™s left of their belongings and getting ready for more possible storms on Tuesday. Blake Farmer with the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency said the county is at a three out of five risk for severe storms and damaging winds on Tuesday.
