VIDEO: In Tuscumbia, officials and firefighters are trying to make the dreams of a new fire station into a reality. The Tuscumbia Fire Station has stood on Dickson Street for 75 long years serving the community. However, firefighters have said they need to acknowledge that the building is out of date. “It’s just old,” Chris Ezekiel said. “I mean, we’re having to do repairs ourselves.” Tuscumbia Fire Captain Chris Ezekiel has been with the department for 25 years. He said he realized they needed a new station back when he started, so the need is even greater now. “There are things in the building that just need worked on,” Ezekiel said. “Electrical parts, doors, we have problems with flooding in the bedrooms due to heavy rain.”
