PHOTOS: A fire at Oakvine Village property in Walker County destroyed two buildings early Tuesday morning. The jail house and the blacksmith workshop were reduced to ashes. A rapid response from the Oakman, McCollum, and Pleasantfield fire departments prevented the blaze from spreading to major structures in the village.
Officials confirmed that three pigs died in the fire. Plans were already in place to expand the property, and now efforts will also focus on rebuilding the lost buildings.
