PHOTOS: Four local fire departments responded this morning to a fire in the McIntosh community that destroyed a home. According to a McIntosh Volunteer Fire Department Facebook post, a fire alarm at the home on Luke Rivers Road triggered the call at about 12:30 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, โheavy fire and smokeโ were visible, according to the post. News 5 has learned the fire is believed to have started with an appliance in the back of the home. No one was hurt. In addition to the McIntosh Volunteer Fire Department, the Tibbie Volunteer Fire Department, Wagarville Volunteer Fire Department, Charity Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, American Red Cross, and Washington County Sheriffโs Office responded to the fire.
