VIDEO/PHOTOS: Multiple departments responded to a fire that broke out at a meat-packing business in Chickasaw. The Hall Namie Packing Company, located on Iroquois Street, went up in smoke Tuesday night after a fire broke out, likely in the boiler room, officials say.
Eyewitness Chrystle Richards was driving behind one of the fire engines as they were responding to the scene. โWeโve been here for about an hour, and itโs just gotten worse,โ Richards said. The owner of the business, Deborah Hodges, tells News 5 that the shop was looking forward to celebrating its 80th anniversary this fall. Due to the fire, they will not be able to hold over 25 events they had scheduled. โThis is one of the hearts of Chickasaw, so itโs really sad to see this happen,โ Richards said. Officers say no one was inside at the time of the fire.
