Fire at Kronospan Flooring Plant in Oxford quickly contained, no injuries reported

A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at the Kronospan Flooring Plant, prompting a swift response from the Oxford Fire Department. The alarm was received at 5:21 a.m., and upon arrival, firefighters discovered smoke emanating from eight sawdust silos. The explosion dampers, which are designed to prevent dust explosions, were in place and functioning properly, officials said. Firefighters from the Oxford Fire Department, along with personnel from Kronospan and the Eastaboga Volunteer Fire Department, worked together to extinguish the blaze using hand lines and a ladder truck. No injuries were reported, and all fire units returned to service by 7:45 a.m.
