VIDEO: Officials said two people were killed in a fire in Huntsville. HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster says Huntsville Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire on Retlaw Street around 2:53 p.m. Tuesday.
Webster said fire crews discovered two people dead on the scene. Huntsville Police confirmed that it was an almost two-year-old baby and the babyโs father, a 21-year-old man, killed in the fire. Nearby neighbor Tammy Hayes said she believes four people lived in the home in total. She said she did not see any smoke before first responders arrived. โItโs a really nice, quiet neighborhood. The people are friendly. The neighbors are nice,โ Hayes said. โThey look out for one another. Thatโs why we didnโt even see the fire outside. We didnโt see nothing outside, ever. You know, if we would have known where, I would have been right there. But, apparently, it all happened inside of the house.โ
