Father and son killed in Huntsville house fire

VIDEO: Officials said two people were killed in a fire in Huntsville. HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster says Huntsville Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire on Retlaw Street around 2:53 p.m. Tuesday.

Webster said fire crews discovered two people dead on the scene. Huntsville Police confirmed that it was an almost two-year-old baby and the babyโ€™s father, a 21-year-old man, killed in the fire. Nearby neighbor Tammy Hayes said she believes four people lived in the home in total. She said she did not see any smoke before first responders arrived. โ€œItโ€™s a really nice, quiet neighborhood. The people are friendly. The neighbors are nice,โ€ Hayes said. โ€œThey look out for one another. Thatโ€™s why we didnโ€™t even see the fire outside. We didnโ€™t see nothing outside, ever. You know, if we would have known where, I would have been right there. But, apparently, it all happened inside of the house.โ€
