Dothan Fire Department’s Chief and Deputy Chief recognized by peers across multiple states

VIDEO: The Dothan Fire Department received recognition from its peers at the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs. The association is comprised of 10 states, including Alabama and Georgia.

Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams received the leadership award for his impact. “It is not an individual award. You can not be successful as a leader without having great people behind you or with you, doing programs, services, etc.. in the community you are in,” Williams said. Deputy Chief Chris Etheredge was presented the president’s award for his service to the association.

“Dothan Fire Department has always been a great fire department. We have led in this state and in this region in a lot of areas for many years. Knowing who is here and how this department moves forward, we are going to continue doing that for many years to come,” Etheredge said. Both Williams and Etheredge credit everyone involved with the fire department from the brave men and women who risk their lives to those in administration and make what they do possible behind the scenes.
