VIDEOS: Fairview Elementary School in Cullman experienced an electrical issue Monday leading to smoke in the building according to officials with Cullman County Schools.
According to Cullman County Schools, the electrical issue is currently believed to have been caused by an exhaust fan. However, officials clarified an official cause is not yet known. Cullman County Schools officials say that emergency crews were on scene and all students are safe. The State Fire Marshalโs Office was on scene investigating according to school officials. Officials shared on Monday afternoon that due to smoke and water damage, Pre-K and first grade classes would be cancelled for Tuesday, Aug. 26 and Wednesday, Aug. 27. According to officials, they hope to have these classes back in session by Thursday, Aug. 28 but it depends on clean-up and restoration. No other grades are cancelled.
