Cullman County chicken house discovered engulfed in flames, no injuries reported

Firefighters from several departments successfully contained a fire at a chicken farm on County Road 695 in Holly Pond Friday night.

Fire Chief Mike Harrison, with the Holly Pond Volunteer Fire Department, confirmed one of the two chicken houses was fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival.

“The fire was starting to extend to the other house through a connecting building,” Harrison said.

With help from Blountsville, Walter, Fairview and Baileyton fire departments, the fire was extinguished with minimal damage to the second house. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
