Community comes together to pray for Anniston fire chief following heart attack

VIDEO: On Monday, June 2, the community came together to pray for Anniston Fire Chief Jeff Waldrep. Chief Waldrep suffered from a massive heart attack on Friday, May 30, and is now in the ICU at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. His daughter, Rylee Corkern, said that since Friday, her family has received several calls and messages, all sending well wishes to her dad. โ€œYou donโ€™t really know how short life is until you get that phone call, itโ€™s hard,โ€ said Corken. On Monday, the fire department hosted a prayer vigil for Chief Waldrep. โ€œHe is a man of integrity, a man of good character. He cares about this city, he cares about the fire department. He has given countless years to the service of this city,โ€ said Anniston Mayor Ciara Smith. Dozens showed up and prayed for Chief Waldrep.
