VIDEO: Several people in an apartment complex are without a place to live after a fire Friday afternoon in Birmingham. It happened at the Altamont Patio Condominiums located at 3500 Altamont Road South in the Highland Park community. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service (BFRS) got the call around 3 p.m. and said fire and smoke were showing when they arrived at the complex.
The fire was under control in under 30 minutes. No injuries were reported. Five apartments were affected and residents of three of those units have been displaced, according to BFRS. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
