VIDEO/PHOTOS: Two adults and three children are dead after a Lawrence County house fire, according to Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood. “They are a precious family. I’ve prayed over them, and I’ve cried with them. This is just horrific, it’s horrific,” Norwood said. Lawrence County EMA officials said the fire happened on Friday at approximately 5:25 a.m.
Lawrence County 911 received a report of a structure fire in the Hillsboro community. Hillsboro Fire & Rescue arrived on scene to find the home fully engulfed in flames, and firefighters from Hillsboro and Courtland worked to bring the fire under control.
The Lawrence County Coroner’s Office and the Lawrence County EMA confirmed that two adult victims were located inside the home. Family members and the coroner later confirmed to WAFF 48 News that three children were also in the home at the time of the fire and died.
