Operation Candy Cane has been around for decades, with the antique fire engine driving Santa Claus through the streets of Port Angeles, handing out candy canes and collecting donations for the food bank. (Although, to be fair, PNW Mobile Detailing and the Port Angeles YMCA stepped up during the pandemic.)
Otherwise, it’s always been sponsored by the Port Angeles Fire Department and stuck to the streets of the city, and they will be doing this year along the traditional route December 10-15. Last year, Clallam 2 Fire Rescue expanded the program to locations outside the city, and they’ve just announced they’re doing it again this year.
Clallam 2, with support of the Port Angeles School District and Port Angeles Food Bank, will be conducting Operation Candy Cane by visiting two elementary schools outside city limits.
