Newport Hospital will show its appreciation for the first responders who work for the safety of the hospital and the community during its new First Responders Appreciation Day this Friday.
The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Newport Hospital campus. First responders from Aquidneck Island and surrounding areas are invited to enjoy a hearty lunch on-site or to-go. Hospital management and staff will also distribute special gifts to attendees and provide cards and dessert for colleagues on duty who are unable to attend.
“From our security staff at the hospital to local police, fire, and EMTs, we work with dozens of first responders daily. Some keep us safe internally, others externally, but to all we are grateful. I’m proud that Newport Hospital management and staff recognize the crucial role these men and women play and want to recognize and honor their efforts,” said Walter Mey, Manager, Newport Hospital Security.
