Fire crews tear open ceiling to battle attic fire in Franklin County

Firefighters battled an attic fire at a house in Franklin County, according to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department. Crews responded to a home in the 4000 block of Mont Alto Road near Penn National Drive in Guilford Township around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for an electrical fire. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the roof. Firefighters tore open the ceiling to battle the fire in the attic of the home, according to fire officials. The surrounding area was blocked off while crews operated on the fire scene for over two hours before being released. It's unclear if anyone was injured or inside the house at the time of the fire.
