A small fire damaged part of an ammunition plant in Lackawanna County. Fire crews responded to the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant along Cedar Avenue in Scranton just after 10 a.m. Monday. Officials say the fire started in a press machine in the forge building, sending smoke throughout the plant. Employees were evacuated while crews put out the flames. No one was injured. The fire comes just a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the plant to thank workers for their effort in ramping up production of its 155-millimeter artillery shells, which are used in Ukraine's Howitzer weapons that help repel Russian ground forces. Operations returned to normal shortly after the fire in Scranton.
