VIDEO/PHOTOS: A pizza shop and movie theater in downtown McMinnville is closed temporarily after it was damaged in a fire early Wednesday.
The fire marshal says the fire tore through the back of 3rd Street Pizza Company, up multiple floors, and through the roof.
He says it was upgraded to a 3rd alarm because of how close neighboring businesses are.
No one was inside the building at the time and they don't have any reports of injuries, the fire marshal said. The cause is under investigation. The owner of 3rd Street Pizza is optimistic they'll be back open in a matter of weeks, better than before.
In the meantime, the community has stepped up. Two nearby businesses have offered to hire the entire 3rd Street Pizza staff while they're closed.
