The Wedge Fire, which broke out Saturday on the side east side of State Highway 75 just south of Timmerman Hill, was sparked by a vehicle dragging something according to the Bureau of Land Management.
With massive progress overnight by fire crews, the agency has declared that the fire was fully contained by Sunday morning. According to the Bureau of Land Management Twin Falls District, control of the fire is expected by 6pm Monday evening.
No structures were destroyed, and the fire burned an estimated 7,375 acres, making it the largest fire so far this year for the Twin Falls District.
Fire danger remains very high for our area according to the Twin Falls Fire District. According to Wood River Fire and Rescue, several Blaine County Fire assets were on scene and were working with the Bureau of Land Management crews, as well as air support.
