PHOTOS: One woman was killed in a Thursday morning garage fire in Cedar Rapids. Crews were called to the scene on 19th Avenue/Hamilton Street SW at 7:42 a.m. Firefighters attempted to find the woman possibly trapped inside, but conditions prevented them from making it safely into the garage. Hose lines were immediately deployed to knock out the flames. It took several minutes before the fire was under control for rescue teams to enter the garage. Once they were able to make a search, a woman was found and brought out for on-scene CPR and then taken to a local hospital. She was later pronounced dead.
