The Iowa City Fire Department and Safe Kids Johnson County hosted a free Child Safety Seat Check Wednesday evening.
This event was held in recognition of Child Passenger Safety Week, which spans Sunday, September 18th through Saturday the 24th.
Attendance was free, and open to the public.
The free seat check took place at Iowa City Fire Station four.
Iowa's News Now spoke with Axel Swanson, Lieutenant of Iowa City Fire Station four, to talk more about child safety.
So when it comes to your child's safety, make sure your child is certainly in the back seat up to age 12.", said Swanson. "Make sure you have a child safety seat based on your child's height and weight.
