Rainbow fentanyl, which looks like candy, regular pills or sidewalk chalk, is “extremely dangerous” and its impact on children should be a concern for everyone on the island, Guam Chamber of Commerce board chairman Ed Untalan said.
Fentanyl remains the deadliest drug threat facing the United States, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
It is a synthetic opioid that is 50 times more potent than heroin, and drug traffickers have expanded their inventory to sell fentanyl in a variety of bright colors, shapes and sizes — a presentation known as “rainbow fentanyl.”
Rainbow fentanyl, according to the DEA, is a deliberate effort by drug traffickers to drive addiction among kids and young adults.
