Two bystanders assisted a distressed swimmer found over the reef at Tagachang Beach in Yona, according to Guam Fire Department spokeswoman, Cherika Chargualaf.
At 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, a 911 call was made informing of the distressed swimmer. Engine units arrived at the scene five minutes later, according to Chargualaf.
Two bystanders spotted the swimmer and jumped into the waters to assist. By 4:39 p.m., the bystanders and swimmer made it to shore.
No medical services were needed for either bystanders or swimmer, Chargualaf said.
